34“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
There was lack. A need existed. You not only saw it but also acted on it. You discovered a need and filled it. What does God require of us? Obedience. Simple, undelayed, obedience. This is what He rewards. Observe and identify the need and allow compassion to move you into action. Our motivation? Love.
It is easy to focus on ourselves. I had a rotten day. More problems than solutions came my way. I did not have bandwidth for anything else if I operated out of the wealth of my own bad attitude. But in operation of Kingdom wealth, peace, righteousness, and joy in the Holy Spirit, I can get up and serve – not lay down and quit. So can you. Our help comes from the Lord, and your neighbor’s help comes from God working through you.
Choose your attitude! Choose obedience! Reach out and find the truth: “A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” —Proverbs 11:25.
This is how you, Believer, take your inheritance. Claim yours today as you serve those around you.
